Human Resource Employment and Development Centre (HREDC)
The Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation started a computer training centre in 1998 under the Public Planning Scheme (Janakeeyasuthranam). Later it was renamed as Human Resource Employment and Development Centre (HREDC) and expanded its operations. The training centre has been functioning for the last two decades as a model for other local self-government bodies.

Individuals interested in the fee concession (with an annual income of less than 2 Lakhs) may submit an income certificate from the Village Officer, and the application must be attested by the relevant Councillor (the chairperson of the ward committee).
